CEREC, otherwise known as Ceramic Reconstruction, is a very high-tech dental system that’s been developed over the years. Ordinarily, when getting a crown, veneer or something similar you would have to visit your dentist at least twice, and he’d take a mould of your teeth so he could prepare the replacement tooth over a period of weeks. The difference between this traditional method and CEREC is time. The CEREC system gets the job done on the spot, in one visit. Instead of a mould being taken, digital imagery is used, and dental machinery then builds or ‘mills’ an appropriate tooth for you.

CEREC is a great option for people who want to spend as little time at the dentist as possible, and who don’t have the time to wait. Of course, CEREC can be more expensive than you would expect of the average crown, veneer or otherwise. CEREC teeth can cost around £700 per tooth, but you can also expect the CEREC teeth to last for considerably longer, as the materials used and the process itself makes for stronger veneers, crowns, fillings or inlays. I know for sure that the treatment is available at Reading dentists, and probably in lots of other areas too. If you value your time enough to want to pay a little extra for a quicker dental procedure that’s completely state-of-the-art, CEREC might be for you.
